This email is going around all of NZ and Australia and has caused issues with thousands of apple customer’s id and account.
The email makes you believe that someone has used your account to make a fraudulent purchase and you should act and press the cancel payment button.
It does seem very odd when you get that email as a Samsung user. First sign it’s a scam. It is not a well designed scam anyways and there are several flaws in the email you can pick. This not only applies to this email but to many similarly designed scams.
The IP address mentioned in email is invalid and made up
The email address is very unusual for a large company
There are not many sufficient disclaimers or privacy notices in email as is common in emails from larger corporations.
The location is Venezuela
The cancel button takes you to a fake mimic website and none of the links on the page work except for the part where you enter your id and password
People are smart these days to not fall for these old school scams but you might know someone who is not tech-savvy and there is a possibility they could fill in their details on these fake links than DO SHARE WITH THEM AND WARN THEM
